Monday 3-31

Two major things today. First, H & R Landscaping coming to help me with some questions I have about my yard and flower beds. I'm really looking forward to that. So I want to make a list of questions and also plants I would like to get. Second, I have mending done, so today I begin with the planning part of a wall quilt for my sister Pat.

I have clean up to do in the flower beds and trimming of bushes and trees, before the spring growing begins. Lots of outside things on my list, like staining the front and back decks. I may want to do some stenciling on the front porch deck, I'll think on that more.

I made another annual promise to myself that I will NOT go and buy plants until I have all the flower beds cleaned out. Yea, right............. I haven't kept that promise, ever. When I get into a plant farm I have no self controll. I want it all. For many years I told my dear daughter Sarah that it was her job and previlage to go with me. She would beg not to, but I still made her go. She was quite embarassed to pull the red wagon up to the check out counter and tell the woman that there was more to come. So by the end of 1-2 hours we would have so many plants that the Van was full, even under the seats and between her feet and I secretly vowed to myself to return for more.

So looking forward to planning Pats quilt. I found the pattern in April 08 American Patchwork & Quilting. Problem oneis, it is 60 inches square and we want about 40. I have all the fabric, washed and ready to go. The magizine only had two diamond sizes to use and the rest are all measurments that is problem two. After two cups of coffe with chocolate raspberry cream, I think I am ready.

Keep tuned. I'm off to see the wizard. Bye

Please take your cousin Marge with you when you plan to sneak off to the Plant Farm. She will help you keep your vow of not buying until flower beds are clean. Each time you reach for a six pack of impatiens, some marigolds, a few geraniums, she will politely smack your hand and say NO NO NO, put those down! Then, she will drag you away from those greens and take you shoe shopping. Cousin Marge will teach the total joy of searching for that shoe bargain, the joys of leather and stretch made made uppers, the scent of good leather and polish, those darling little flats, those comfy clogs, those little boots with pointy toes.......ahhhhhhh, the true joy of life, Shoe Shopping!
So remember, call Marge.....she will help you keep your 2008 promise.

Life is way too short to not buy flowers when/where you can. I will pull the wagon any time you want me to.
